See the quick before you cut
Dark claws hide the quick completely, so most people either stop far too short or put the clippers down and book a groomer. A light behind the nail turns the quick into a visible shadow — you cut up to it, not past it.
A light behind the nail, not a guess
Ready in three simple steps
Over USB, like a phone.
With the light on, look for the darker core and set the blade short of it.
Run the built-in file over the cut tip before you let the paw go.

Good to know
Does the light really show the quick on black claws?
It shows it as a darker core inside a lit nail. On very thick or very dark claws the contrast is lower, so take small cuts and stop as soon as the core comes close.
How does it charge?
Over USB. The cable plugs into the body, so any USB charger or laptop port will do.
What size pets is it for?
It is a claw clipper sized for cats and small to medium dogs. For a large dog with thick claws, a heavier clipper is a better fit.
Can I use it without the light?
Yes. The light is only there to help you see. On a pale claw where the quick is already visible you can clip without it.
Is this the same as your Gentle-Guard clipper?
No. Gentle-Guard is mechanical, with an adjustable guard that limits how much claw enters the blade. This one is electronic, with a light and a clippings catcher. Plenty of people keep both.
